Is it me or do other people get excited the first time they mow in the spring (Tractor). I did last night & I had a smile on my face the whole time!!

Am I alone here?

Holzster,

I get excited just to think about spring... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Still snow on the ground here... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Glad to hear someone is enjoying their mower! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I love mowing when the grass is new and fresh, the smell and the fresh air are great. When it gets dry and dusty-I'd much rather be catching catfish.

I do for brush cutting but not for standard yard work (finish mowing).

I never fertilize so I have to do it less frequently. On the other hand I LOVE chopping stuff up with the brush cutter. Its funny you brought this up though. I've been looking at the onions growing in the front yard dreading the coming lawn work, but I've been looking at the pasture that now has horses with a tear in my eye. I now have renters and horses, it won't be needing brush cutting but maybe once this year. <sniff>

I feel beter now - after I was dine I even ate my supper on the porch to smell the cut grass.
I mowed with my Tractor & 7' Rhino & my Garden Tractor.
& yes - I do not get excited about weed eating though!!

Well put Henro!
I may have actually seen a robin yesterday. He was flying away from me, so it was hard to tell. He was heading south again. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Holzster,

I've got 50 acres, cows, horses, and from your location indicated, we can't be that far from each other. After reading your initial post thread, I'll PM you when I go to brush hog my pastures about June and will feel very good about letting you enjoy yourself like that on my place to your heart's content!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I may be the exception but I love cutting the grass not only in the spring but summer and fall too. Nothing like sitting up on the tractor with the warm/hot sun beating down. Birds flying around, the wonderful smells, the look of straight, even fresh cut rows in the grass. Mmmmm for 45 minutes it's just me, my tractor and not another care in the world. Then I have to get off the tractor and the rest of the world rushes back into my life. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif It's all good though!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Duber

I'm with billbill. I usually love mowing, but when it's dry and dusty my allergies and sinuses give me a lot of problems.

Holtzer - I know what you mean. Two weekends ago I was up at the "farm". There is one particular low area near the creek with some kind of junk grass that grows only in that spot. It had grown up something over 6"-8" tall so I hooked up the rotary cutter and went and mowed it. Not that it was overgrown or anything. I just felt the urge to mow. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
