2015 Mahindra mPower 75P, 1963 Allis Chalmers D-15
I believe I have narrowed my search for new tractor to 2015 Mahindra MPower 75 or a 2014 Mahindra 6530. Both 4wd and with loader. Mpower rock bottom 34k - 6530 31k.

Have a small cattle operation. Will use for bale work, lot maintenance, light field work (discing), and hay.

Any advice guidance between the two for my intended use would be great. Leaning to the 75 simply because of the > HP and weight.

Thank you,

I'm not sure about the M75, but I don't think you could go wrong with the 6530...it "appears" to be an update of the original "00" series tractors (which are made by Mahindra in India)...pretty much identical to the old 4500 (three cyl approx 146 cu. inch unit)...with upgraded hyds...and a turbo..not sure about the Tier 4 engine in it, but the rest of the tractor is built like a tank. Get the rears loaded and you would be golden. My '02 6000 4WD is still doing every thing I want to do. I've had a couple of small issues with it (like some bad diesel that had "scum" in it that I had to clean out, but that's the not the tractors fault...). Some folks like a 12 or 16 speed trans, but I find the 8x8 shuttle to be all I need...and based on what you said you had for it to do, I'm pretty sure you will find that too...regards and good luck.. Bob, you are dead on about the 6530 being down the line from the 6500 you have. For only three K more... I would go for the 75 I think. Both are great tractors and will serve you well.

If you plan on running Hay equipment like a baler both will do it but the 75s PTO power and extra range of gears will help in certain situations. Both are more limited to a 4x5 or 5x5 base model balers like Vermeer rebel series for example but iv seen them run custom balers but this isn't ideal... if your just talkin about moving hay and loader work the 6530 is going to sit right up with the 75 as far as performance and also tracks across rough terrain better and handles slopes better also. The 75 will have more operator room and a bit smother shuttle but when it comes to servicing the two the 6530 will be more simple just because of its oldschool build.. its still identical to the 6500 series with some minor updates that made it even better of a tractor. Oh that 6530 is also T3. One advantage of the T4 engine in the 75 is that it is quiet and smooth.. little vibration and a lot less noise.. the 6530 is a 3cyl turbo with no emissions controls so you feel and hear every bit of the beast it is.. you will like either but if moving hay, loader work, and say a 7-8ft 3pnt disc is your max requirements then the 65 is well more than enough.. really the 4530 or 5545 is plenty big for that. Good luck

Thank you all for the great input.

I feel much better informed now.

It is helps to know that the 6530 is a 'beastly' (in a good way) machine that will serve my purpose.

The final decision I guess will need to await planting my keister on both of them. Maybe this weekend!

Got on both the 6530 and MPower 75 today for a little try out and moving bale around.

Both worked well and I do believe both would be very functional for me. I'm tending to the MPower 75 for the additional weight and Navasot you were right on the smoother shuttle with the MPower.

Considering even going up to MPower 75 w/ cab but the sticker has me wondering.

I hope you all won't mind giving me your thoughts on these quotes MPower75 w/ Cab $44,5k; MPower75 open $34,6k .

And I'm in midwest (Iowa / Nebraska) area.

I've never purchased a new tractor is there any maneuver on them like vehicles?

Thanks

yup, $10k is about the going rate for a cab over the price of an open seat.

Can't comment on the overall price.

prices are inline... stick with the open stage

Did you end up purchasing the 6530? A guy here in middle TN has the mPower 85 for $33.6k. Seems like a pretty good price.
