Tractor
1984 2810 and 1710
Hello I am the owner of a Ford 1710 and a ford 2810. I live in Tucson AZ. I am interested in others experiences with these types of tractors. Specificfally I am most inter4ested in obtaining parts for the 1710. I bought it with the engine out of the frame. I am finding that parts are outrageous and contemplating parting it out. Any sugestions?

I have a Ford 1700 4WD. I have had it 14 years, other than front axle have had no problems with it, just routine maintenance and very happy with it. You might try a salvage yard for an engine.

the best place to get parts for that tractor is from alexander tractor salvage are west kentucy tractor they aren't to bad on prices but i would try and get all the parts i could get that i needed for it from a salvage but them really are some good little tractors and the 2810 is a great tractor and cheap to own and operate

Thanks Guys! I looked up both places and I am amazed at the selections. I am still torn about whether to repair or part out. So far I have identified the following missing parth: exh. manifold, 2 piston rods, crank shaft end mut and sleeve, glow plugs, drive gear for the injection pump, and I am still just taking inventory. I have never worked on this type of engine so I am not to sure what else is missing, and I am not quite ready to spring for the price of a repair manual until I commit to repairing the machine.
The bright side is that the block is in great shape, the head has already been re-built, the injection pump has been rebuilt and is still dry with tags on it, I have 3 new injection valves for it, the clutch pressure plate is new and the flywheel apears to have been milled.
I am not out much for the tractor ($700 including loader, gannon, blade and fork attachments) and can just adapt the 1710's loader to my 2810 which is more than enough machine for that and the attachments that came with it.
Given that info what do you think?

$700 is a good price for just the attachments if they're decent, and I bet someone would just love to find a good block/rebuilt head/clutch/pump if they had a burst engine. You can't lose except for finding that someone in your area. You're ahead the loader and some cash.
If you don't need the 1700, sell parts and attachments and make someone happy.
Jim
