Hey guys,
My clutch started sticking yesterday for some reason. If I only push it in just far enough to get in gear it returns ok but if I push the pedal any farther, it takes a few seconds and then snaps back. I replaced the pedal spring but that wasn't the problem. After sitting over night, it's not doing it this morning.
Is this a sign of impending DOOM :( or might it be as simple as an adjustment ?

Its bound to be a minor problem but could be doom if you dont tend to it. When you push the clutch pedal you move the throwout bearing against the clutchplate fingers and depress them to disengage the clutch. The throw out movement is guided and it may be that there is gummy dried greasey crud on the guide at the full limit of travel. It is also possible that the linkage from your pedal is the culprit. That is easy to fix - just spray every joint on the linkage with a penetrting oil. But if its the former cause you must get to the clutch area [via an inspection plate hopefully] and carefully clean and re lube the quill that guides the throw out. Neatness counts... clutches dont like oil and grease.

Thanks Larry,
When it happened the first time I had just shifted from low range and thought something was broken because I tried shifting back and forth from low to high range but wouldn't seem to go in gear, but after I shut the tractor off I heard a small "clank" so I started it again and when I released the clutch it did the same thing but only hung up for a second or two so I lubed down where the linkage goes into the tractor but it didn't seem to help. Next time I used the tractor it was fine for a while but after an hour or so it did it again for a few shifts and again it cleared up and was fine for the rest of the day. I'm crossing my fingers that it doesn't happen tomorrow. I hate the thought of separating the tractor. I'm pretty sure that's the only way to get to the throwout bearing on my tractor.

That is true, it's the only way to get to the throw out bearing. Although it does sound like a pressure plate problem or several of the fingers could be worn through and the throw out bearing is sticking.
I had to split mine a few weeks ago for a stuck clutch, a good wire brushing of everything fixed it all and I now use the prop device on the clutch pedal. It wasn't that hard to split it, I took the hydraulic lines loose from the pump and one of em snapped so I had to drill it & re-tap other than that everything went real smooth and I changed the hydraulic oil while I was at it.
