muffler relocation on fx18D

I am wanting to relocate my muffler. It is currently mounted in a horizontal position and tends to send the exhaust back to my face. I know the normal position is vertical and my hood is cut to fit the muffler. This way it also forces me to remove the muffler to remove the "hood". Is there straight flange available to bolt to the exhaust manifold in place of the 90 degree that is on there now? I of course would prefere not to replace the entire muffler...just cut off the 90 and clamp it to a new "straight" manifold fitting.

I have to say . That is a strange place to put the muffler. You could cut the 90 off . use the same flange & weld a straight piece of pipe on it to make it come up straight

Ya might want to look at using a muffler from a different model in the F series. From what I can make out from one of your pics is all that is needed is to replace the muffler with one intended for vert mounting as it mounts directly to the exhaust manifold.

After looking into this more, I found that the muffler was bolted to the 90 degree elbow and that was bolted to the manifold. I removed the elbo flange and bolted the muffler directly to the manifold. Seems to work. Thanks to all that replyed
