I have a 2008, 3010 TransMule with 245 hours.

Starting last week when I started the mule it would run for a couple of minutes then die like it was not getting gas. Once it sat for 5 minutes or so it would start and run fine. I drove down to the field and watered for 3.5 hours. When I was getting ready to drive back to the house it started and ran for about half way around the field and died. IT will not start for about 5 minutes then it runs fine.

I check the air filter and it is clean. I changed both plugs and put a new fuel filter on it. I also adjusted the idle since it needed adjusting anyway. Started up and ran fine but it was already warmed up. The next morning, same thing, runs for about a minute then dies. I am runnig the RPMs at about half throttle as I have always done since mules are cold natured and can choke it to where it will try to keep running but it still dies.

I thought about the fuel pump but if there was a problem with the fuel pump I think it would be on going.

Any ideas what the issue could be other than maybe the carburetor or trash in the fuel line?

My 2006, 3010 Trans4X4 was doing the very same thing and I did the same things you did. It is now sitting in the Kawasaki repair shop. I gave up trying to fix it myself and need it too much to mess around any longer. The shop hasn't told me what is wrong yet nor have they told me the cost to fix what is wrong. When I do find out I will pass it along so you may be able to avoid the $$$$$$.

I have a fuel pump on order. I started it the day after posting the thread and it died after about 30 seconds and would not start. I disconnected the hose form the fuel filter at the ful pump and it was getting fuel. I then disconnected the hose from the fuel pump to the carb. Turned the starter over several times and no fuel pumping thru.

I called the dealer and talked with hte service guy. He also thinks it is the fuel pump but no one stocks them so I had to order. I hope it get here today or tomorrow so I can see if this is the issue.

Thanks for the reply and let me know how your fix goes. I'll let you know if the fuel pump fixes mine.

It looks like my problem was the fuel pump. I put the new one on Saturday and the mule started right up and run great.

Good for you and thanks for the update, David. I am beginning to think the shop with my Mule likes it so much they want to keep it. No word from them yet, but they will be getting a call from me today.

None of the dealers I called stocked the fuel pump. So if that is your issue they most likely had to order it. It took 4 days for mine to arrive at the dealer.

I got my call from the repair shop yesterday. Their diagnosis, fuel pump. Will pick it up this morning, after paying them $100 for parts and $180 for labor. Ouch! That hurts.

The good news, David, we are both up and running again.:thumbsup:

Great news Lee, to be up and running again that is. Not the $280.00:(

I use my mule everyday and it being down a week made me realize just how much it is used and needed.
