Multiple versions of backhoe quick attach?

Has Kubota used multiple versions of the backhoe quick attach over the past few years? My buddy had an L39. He sold it recently and picked up an L45. He CLAIMS the buckets he had for his L39 quick attach won't fit the quick attach that came on the new L45.

Any ideas other than he is clearly delusional?

I'm sure they don't fit. He should have found out before he bought the machine. L48 buckets do fit on M59 hoes. I want to fabricate a quick hitch to fit cat buckets so I can borrow them from my local rental. Could also use the hammer and post hole digger that way without having to win the lottery.

Do you know what changed? Is the "old" style proprietary Kubota? Is the "new"?

The "old" style was outsourced to Werk-Brau, the new ones are built by KIE. The old couplers fit the new machine so your not SOL... you have a choice in which coupler you use unless your working with a salesmen who is in the dark on these matters.

It seems we didn't know there were 2 versions, and the salesman never mentioned it. Guess we stumbled on it. So far the dealer is investigating. Hopefully he is willing to swap the new machine to the old style so we can salvage our buckets.

Often the quick attaches change do to the strength needed not just who is making it!

Pin diameters as well as the spread on the booms make differences.

Should have listened to my own advise, assumed the quick tach on the loader was the same, My old L5240 bucket won't fit on the M59. Looks like the same setup except the braces have rings welded where the pins go through for extra support so it's a little wider. It's more the bucket is a little different. Anybody else run into this? thinking of getting the torch out.

Does anyone have any pics of the different quick attaches? The only one I have ever seen in pictures is the one that is on my machine. Kubota doesn't show any pictures of the quick attach well.
