Murphy\'s Law

After several years of tractor using and several repairs, some my fault, others I blame on "mr. Murphy". I have decided to compile a list of mr. Murphy's greatest or not so greatest deeds. To prevent the question of who this mr. Murphy is, I will explain that he is a fictional character who we use to blame our screwups, accidents and just plain bad luck, on. Feel free to add your own experience with mr. Murphy. It sounds like he has been visiting in the Boomer section. 1. Murphy's law states that: You never run out of fuel on a rainy day. 2.When you have a new tractor, you drop the loader frame on the hood (don't ask). Never an old tractor. 3. It's friday, no rain predicted, but the part won't be in until monday. 4. Lynch pins are 10 for a dollar at T.S.C. but you can't find one at home to replace the one you just lost. 5. Your stuck and the winch on the truck mysteriously quits working. 6. Truck with non- working winch, also gets stuck trying to pull out tractor. 7. If you throw the track on a dozer, it will almost always be on a slope with the thrown track on the high side. This is so when you jack the dozer up to reinstal the track you have a better chance of rolling it down the hill. 8. Revving your tractor while the " Boss" (wife) is trying to straighten you out, is not a particularly good idea. 9. Mice and chipmunks are not good tractor mechanics. 10.Never tell a wife " This is the only tractor I will need"! Those words will come to haunt you. I don't want to tell too much or the mystery will be gone. Maybe some one out there knows mr. Murphy. If so let me know I would hate to think he has singled me out. DN

Re: Murphy\'s Law

For getting your towing a trailer and cut the corner to close.
Use the fel while backing up and building, car, wood pile etc.. had move right {wasn't there a min ago}behind you. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
Going thru a muddy area than second guessing yourself, and stop and try and back out.
Thought you had 4wd engage, than realize you don't until your belly hung.
Grinding brush and have your watch get caught on a limb while feeding the grinder..Timex doesn't keep on ticking after wards.
Bird decides to give your tractor a little more color..hood,steering wheel, seat.
When your stuck and your better half notice and ask if your stuck...no I did it on purpose for something to do.
Dozering and get into the bees and the better half says..you got a dozer the bees don't stand a chance..ya right as you swell up.
Sure could add to the list so don't feel alone. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Re: Murphy\'s Law

When you back your landscape rake up to a chain link fence, at least one of those 36 tines will hook it as you pull away. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

When you hit a tree with the FEL while looking backwards, you knee will always find something hard to hit.

That lynch pin rule always strikes me.

Re: Murphy\'s Law

This one is dedicated to Winger up in the Kubota Buying section. Seems to always happen this way to me too.

You will always realize you have a problem with whatever 5 minutes after the business you will need to contact has closed for the weekend./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
