MX 5400 New rear remote purchase

I have a Kubota MX 5400 and am looking to get a ditch/flail mower. I will need two sets of hydraulics. I already have a third function for the loader. I will install the remotes myself. I know the first remote will be spring center and the second will be float. Kubota has these units priced at $1,350.00 (ouch), I wanted advice of possibly going the DIY route with aftermarket parts. From some of the threads on here I have assumed that this set up could be done for about $500. Should I go with factory parts? Advise and pictures on your set up will be helpful. Also, a good place to purchase all parts needed. Thank you in advance, Mark

This is just my opinion and haven’t added one yet but it is on the list for my M4 next year.

I plan to do it myself but plan to use Kubota parts.
Reasons for me:
It will be really easy to make sure I purchase the correct repair parts.
All the parts will be supported for a while, I won’t call some manufacturer to get a part only to find out they got a different supply for widget Y so now instead of buying the dohicky for widget Y you have to get a whole new widget.
Looks, easier for me to tell something is wrong when I’m inspecting three things that should look the same.

You can't buy a cleaner, neater installation than OEM valves.
How much value you place on that along with sea2summit's very valid contribution is for you to determine.

I chose to do mine myself because I wanted the valves in a different location than the OEM setup. I also wanted one valve that I don't think kubota offered for my tractor at the time, a 3 position detent. It's also nice to be able to make your own hoses so you can route them where you want them. If you're happy with the configuration that kubota offers that will be a lot easier to install, but cost more money. If you have some requirements that the OEM stuff doesn't offer then it's worth doing it yourself. The only part that surprised me was the cost of hoses. I went to a local hydraulic shop, I think now I know enough about fitting types that I'd order the hoses online. One wrong hose can cancel out any savings, so if you get them online make sure you know what you're ordering.
