I have the mx5100 4wd (same tractor but has a turbo). It's done pretty good for me, i think the fuel tank is to small, but other than that it has done all that i have asked of it. i bought all 6' attachments but i wish i would have bought 7' as it would have no problem with it. i use mine to bush hog a couple of lots, and to move dirt. i built up an 1 acre lot about 1.5 feet. . . that was a lot of dirt.
Good luck with it and let me know if you have any questions

If I were to buy again in the next year I would go with the MX4700 or the MX5100 when they come out with the HST version(I understand it is to be produced this year in the HST version). The are nice well built no nonsense machines that are a step up from my L4400 and have a stronger loader.

I was told by a JD owner that he thinks they're light in the rear end and that would make moving round bales difficult. When i mentioned the ol' liquid in the tires trick, he had no comment.

I was really considering the MX4700 when I pay off my current tractor early next year. The only thing that is dissapointing is the 3ph lift capacity of the 4700/5100 compared to the L4400. Seems like it should have a little more capacity.

The loader is nice though.

I've got the older, non-turbo MX5000 and, you're right, the 3PH has the same lift capability as the L4400 and my older L4300. OTOH, it appears to be only a paper deficiency. There's more than enough moxie in the 3PH to pull the fronts off the ground, even with front weights or the loader. So, after being concerned about the numbers, I had to ask myself, "How much more lift do you need"?

Only complaint I have with the MX5000 is that the engine has to turn up 2700RPM to get 540 at the PTO. That seems a bit fast for a diesel and it's not a lot of fun to be on it all day when it's turning up at that speed. Still, I've been able to do anything I've needed to (so far) with the engine turning 2200-2300RPM. Of course that derates the PTO output and I'm not turning 540, but the work gets done fine.

That talk of an HST MX5100 sure perked my ears up. Might consider trading my L4300 for one of those. The MX's are about right for my little place. I sure like the 5000.

I looked at the MX4700/510 and there seems to be a lot of shared parts with the L4400 I notice it is stronger looking in the front axle area. The front end loader is much beefier looking as well. Does the 844 FEL have the compound linkage in the front that gives the greater rollback angle and better breakout strength (The L4400 lacks in the rollback area). I have talked to a couple of dealers who tell me that the L4700/5100 is supposed to come out in a HST version this year but I haven't seen anything official. Has anybody heard this?

Yea, there is an HST version. The MX's are basicly L-series front ends, and M-series rear ends. Good no frills tractors.

I looked on the Kubota web site is it on there and I just missed it?
I looked at the MX and it looked the same on the rear and heavier on the front is that correct? Are the MX- HST tractors at the dealers yet? Thanks
