I am looking at a MX4700, 4WD, Gear, with a LA844 FEL, and Ag tires. It is a local dealer, very nice guy, with a good reputation. Price is 23,000 with the 0% 42 month financing. I like everything about this tractor, the kioti I am looking at is less money and I am struggling to decide which one to go with. Does this seem like a good price? How is this tractor for reliability and resale? Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

That seems like a good deal. The MX4700 is non-turbo and nearly the same as the old MX5000 as I understand. You'll be paying about $1K more than I paid for mine in '08...and I think I got a very good deal. You'll be getting the upgraded transmission for the extra $.

Get the rears filled and you'll find the thing goes nearly anywhere. Maybe you can get the dealer to throw in filled tires to sweeten the deal.

I can't speak for Kioti, but I can say I love my MX.

Bob,
Thanks for the info, I am pleased to hear it goes nearly anywhere, I do have steep hills to deal with. The dealer wants $200 to fill all four tires, he says we cant use antifreeze anymore and he needs to use some other liquid. How does the loader work for you? It seems very strong and I was wondering how it has worked out for you.

I like the loader a lot, Bill. No issues at all and it has easily lifted everything I've tried to lift. Last spring the neighbor took out a hedgerow and gave me the wood. Spent several afternoons hoisting basswood and hickory logs onto my 20' pipe trailer. I think a couple of the larger hickory logs approached 1500 lbs. I have bucket hooks welded on the top edge of the bucket to lift with. Looped a couple of chains around the log and secured them to the hooks on each end of the bucket. Worked much better than I expected.

You might ask if the loader has the quick-detach bucket. I think it's available for that model. This would let you add forks or a grapple later on and easily switch between them.

For bush-hogging in tight quarters, I usually take the loader itself off. It goes off and on almost as easily as the one on my B7610. Without the loader, the short-coupled MX is quite maneuverable and easily slips into tight places.

They filled my rears with something called Rimguard. I've heard other people talk about using Beet Juice. I think they're the same. Non-corrosive to the wheel and doesn't freeze; but not cheap.
