I picked my MX5400 up yesterday. First impressions were very good. The tractor is suprisingly compact for the horsepower. The seat is very comfortable and adjustments are easy. There was a small issue with reinserting the ROPS securing screws when the top bar was folded down. Both holes were not lined up with the bolt that the screws go into. A few minutes with grinder and problem solved. My only gripe so far is you are not supposed to remount the front wheels in order to give you a wider front stance. Now I have to start shopping for larger attachments to fit the tractor and hook up auxiliary lights.

Also, Need to add your new tractor to your profile Tractor = Yanmar 220D :D

I did mount my front tires for a wider stance but since the front pivots and it did not feel any more stable, I put it back to narrow. What tire type did you get? Setting the rear tires wide helps more with stability!

Thanks for the heads up old and tired. I sold that old and tired yanmar years ago. I didn't think about the tight turning radius Jeff. You most likely saved me a solid hour of wasting my time. One other note of interest on the ROPS is the factory holes for mounting lights. They covered them with stickers. I'm not sure the locations will work for me. We will see. My buddy rigged up some pretty sweet light mounts that work when the top bar of the ROPS is up or down.

On mounting work lights on roll bar, did that once. Don't forget lights draw bugs! When I installed a canopy on that tractor moved the lights to the front of the canopy mount and was a big help. Now if it is for winter use and or tractor is moving fast, on roll bar should be fine.

Thank you for the advice kthompson. I didn't take bugs into consideration when I mounted the lights. If it becomes an issue I'll move them. What brand of canopy did you install on your tractor? I've been trying to decide if I want to add one or not.
