Think this might be my last ? re: the new MX5800HST. Well... probably not haha. Is the L2235 a good bucket or should I get a heavier duty one? Will be using the FEL for dirt work, rocks, logs, & pretty much everything else you can imagine. I'm hard on equipment so don't mind upgrading if I should but if it's a decent bucket, I'll keep it.

Easy - HD one. Bought it when I got my 2012 MX and still not a dent or bend. I often use it for moving dirt/logs/etc....

HD bucket with the (BOE) bolt on cutting edge is the only way to go , At this point what's a few more dollars:D

I have the L2296 Heavy Duty Round-Back bucket too. You do not have to baby the L2296.
Provides a rigid mount for a Bucket Spade and Debris Forks and other bucket attachments.

Thanks. Anyone have pics of either the QA light material bucket, the QA square back bucket, or the QA HD round back bucket? Are the 3 buckets the same size?

Good looking bucket Jeff, looks tough! Also looks bigger than the light material bucket but maybe it's just the pic?

Interesting info. We have a Construction Attachments 4N1 bucket on our MX5800. I really like the flexibility of a 4N1 bucket but I have thought about getting a regular bucket also. If I do, I'll buy it from Everything Attachments. Is the general recommendation to get a bucket with bolt-on teeth and also bolt-on cutting edge? Can you get both on the same bucket? Thanks.

Yes but it looks like you have to remove the bolt on cutting edge to install the teeth or the tooth bar.

The L2296 bucket holds slightly less than the standard bucket, considerably less than the light materials bucket.

L2296 weighs approximately 100 pounds more than the standard bucket.

I recommend a pair of 5/16"/Grade 70 Ken's weld-on chain grab hooks for your L2296 bucket, fused approximately in line with FEL arms to distribute torque.

Copy that, appreciate all the help. Yep, 2 of those grab hooks are on the books for the FEL. Do you recommended 3/8" or 5/16" or does it depend on chain size?

5/16" grab hook holds 3/8", 5/16" and 1/4" chain securely. It is the closest thing there is to a universal size.

You want to buy 5/16" Grade 70 chain, not 3/8" lesser grade chain. Lowe's and Home Depot have good prices for bagged 5/16" chain with a grab hook on each end. in their hardware/trailer section. Have the store divide into a 12' length + 8' length and add Ken's slip hooks to the two new ends.
Grade 70 chain is very difficult to cut at home.

I have an HLA standard duty bucket on my MX5100 that is 3/16 material with 1/4 sides. It is really heavy duty and therefore weighs a lot. it takes about 3/4 cu yd of material stacked and I use it for moving mushroom soil. The bucket weighs close to 500 lbs and is plenty tough. I got it when I purchased the tractor and is shown on tractor
