I replaced the blades on my MX6 a few days ago for the first time.

I bought new blades, bolts, and washers. Torqued them down correctly. But the blades have excessive play (about a quarter inch). I know they are supposed to be loose enough to swing freely, but this seems excessive.

I notice the blades are supposed to be 1/2", but the collar on the new bolts is nearly 3/4", which is what seems to be causing the play. The old bolts have a shorter collar, but still allow play on both the new blades and the old blades.

Any suggestions?

The bolts that came off the mower are the original bolts from 13 years ago. They are slightly different than the new ones I bought, but the new ones are the correct P/N.

Here is a video of the amount of blade looseness. As you can see, the bolt isn't moving because it's tightened down as much as it can. But the amount of collar space is allowing the blade to move up and down.

The bolt is the correct P/N and so is the blade.
