I sat on a 1552 platform today and what a nice machine. A little big for my little corner of the world but what a machine. You have yourself a nice tractor that will give you decades of reliability.

I really didn't want to spend the extra money on the cab model, and I thought I might have a hard time in the woods with all of the glass. I might be a little cold, but I will manage. Yes, I had the rear tires loaded. I will probably use the tractor and loader without anything on the back sometimes so I thought it was a must. Also the added weight doesn't hurt!

Your points are definitely valid.I am a newbie ,having owned a tractor for less than 1yr I am finding out new stuff all the time.The cab is an expensive option from MF or even aftermarket(ie.Curtis)Once again nice tractor.
