My 1988 Ford 1520

I have the smallest of the 20 series compact tractors the 1120. It now has over 4000 hours on it and mows a block that has around a 30-40 degree slope. It is hydrostatic, 4x4 and diff lock and will go anywhere! Time has come for some new oil rings, but thats not bad for 4000 hrs on an 18hp engine. Credit must go to Shibaura of Japan, the manufacturers of these machines.

I've owned my 1720 4x4 w/FEL for around 10 years now. It was beat up and banged up from the PO's misuse and abuse, but I've put over 1400 hours on it now and it's never failed me. It starts when I hit the key, and it's done almost everything I've asked of it that a tractor it's size could ..... come to think it of it, it's done some things I wouldn't have expected a 40hp tractor to do.

It's done such a fine job for me that this summer, it's getting a LOT of new sheet metal and a fresh paint job so it'll be as pretty as it is reliable.

I ended up repainting the white front and side grills on my Ford 1720, black, to match the NH version that came out a couple of years later. The black showed the marks and rust a lot less too.

You guys are singing mighty pretty music to my ears. I'm glad to hear all these good comments. I just got an '85 or '86 1510 and I'm thrilled so far. And she runs like a sleeping kitten...
