Just a few pics of my 2520 "add-ons"...

*Hoe stabalizer keeper chains.....they all leak down over time.
*Spot mirrors....you never know who/what has snuck up behind you.
*Grease fitting condom.....one can never be too careful.
*Bucket hitch....for those trailer jockying duties.
*Trailer jack post.....when I load the "big-boy" up for a ride.

That's a nice collection of add-on improvements to your equipment. I made a rear-view mirror for my JD almost like yours, mounted on the loader post.

I don't think the grease fitting condom would do me much good, though. Is that a piece of vinyl tubing with one end melted shut, sort of like the rubber covers for brake bleeder screws? I don't think it's that hard to wipe off the fitting, and I'd probably lose those "condoms" in no time. But if you can come up with something to keep those fittings from getting packed with hard grease, post it!

And I like your list of attachments in your profile....where you just list "me, attached to the seat"!

Yea...that is what the grease fitting caps are, just some old fish aquarium supplies laying around the shop. Lite one end of tube on fire and then pinch together with pliers...NOT fingers!! If the correct size tubing is used, they snap over the fitting and stay on surprisingly well. They also make it easier to spot those somewhat hidden fittings at grease time.

And yes, I stood a long time staring at those holes on the loader post wondering...what ta heck?

A keg of beer in the shop refridgerator and nothing really to do....the ideas start to flow.....some are worthy.....others are, Oh well..the beer was flowing good.

All good ideas FP ! I own a similar trailer with a good friend of mine (50/50 ownership)...... he also made similar, simple "stands" on the rear of the trailer after his truck w/trailer took off down his driveway (slight downhill) the first time he tried to load his car on the trailer !

I did the exact same thing for a mirror, but I bolted an AL bracket on to raise the mirror 2 inches so I can see over the rear fenders n stuff.

I use grease caps on my fittings. Bright red to make the fittings easy to spot, stay on well and are low profile so they do not get hit much.

I get them at Grainger - 68 cents for 10.

Those are some cool mods, Pauly. Thanks for sharing and posting the pics and descriptions. Some great ideas there and it seems other have had similar ideas. I was trying to figure out the hitch mounted to the back of the bucket and realized you must be rotating the bucket forward to get that hitch horizontal to move trailers and such....also great idea. I think I like the idea of the red grease fitting covers a little better and the fact that they can be had for cheap. Was the trailer jack stand mounted on the back of the trailer just to add some strength and stability when rolling up or down heavy tractors or equipment?
