My 3-pt quit working

So a new customer called complaining that the 3-pt on his MF 135 just quit working all of a sudden.



This is what I found. I scooped this goo out of the transmission housing by the handful. What a mess this is going to be to get cleaned out.

Yuck. Is this a 40 year old tractor?

The customer doesn't appear to have change the fluids many times, eh?

45 year old tractor and the only owner. He said he bought it in 1969 and has had it ever since. Yeah, I don't think it's had the hydraulic oil changed many times. He did admit though, that maybe the hydraulics have been getting slower over time.
