My 4200 has no hydraulics

I have a standard shift 4x4 4200 JD , my father was using it three days ago
When he said that the steering started going out,
And then the loader ,after letting it set a while half way came back just enough to limp it back to the house , now after going back to it it has no hydraulics.... Runs fine but no steering or three point rear hydrolics ... Anyone know what I'm fixxin to get into ?

Probably gona check oil level, see if there are any leaks, work the loader and three point controls, make sure the pump is turning over and see if any relief is bypassing. Then it's on to check oil filters, screens and pump output pressure and then???

Find out what all knobs and levers Father changed the position of.

Hope its an easy one.

Like Egon says, check oil level first.

Have you had the tractor long? Any history of tranny oil change? Other problems?

May not be as serious as it sounds. Hopefully.

I'm the only owner of this tractor fluid levels are fine , when it went out , the power steering and loader started at the same time, which I thought the ran off different pumps but shared the same fluid reserved , thanks so far for advise a comments

Is the fluid foamy looking? There is a rubber hose on the return line from the sump that has had a history of cracking causing the pump to suck air. It's part #2 in the diagram below.

That is 100% correct-but they are in tandem and are turned by the same input shaft.
