Mrs Boondox came home from the hospital this afternoon. She's drifting between wakefulness and sleep, bouncing from pain pill to pain pill, though the good times are beginning to outweigh the bad. There is a cat asleep on her tummy acting as a heating pad, and every few minutes Tuppence or Glenfiddich will wander over to sniff and kiss her.
I'm amazed at the change in her! Six weeks ago she was an avid bicyclist with leg and shoulder muscles rippling under her lycra. Today she is 40# lighter, with no muscle tone and every rib standing out! But she's home, and she's improving day by day.
Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement over the past month. I didn't respond often as I was exhausted and anxious, but it meant a lot!
