Hi,
A few years back I purchased an old Satoh/Mitsubishi buck. Some of the stickers say Mitsubishi but some say Satoh, not really sure the year or how to tell the year.
Anyways, I picked it up mainly for snow removal and it has a front loader on it (Blackhawk loader with a plate that says model number 25?). It's been a great little tractor so far and worth every penny. It is a 4WD diesel model and has been surprisingly tough and dependable.
Last winter the 3 PT hitch stopped lifting. This winter I finally got around to figuring that out. The filter was badly plugged up and the hydraulic fluid looked like chocolate milk. Cleaned the filter, put in new fluid. I also replaced the front diff fluid and coolant while I was at it. The shifter boot was gone and I imagine water was leaking into the fluid from there. I was unable to find the "correct" boot so I measured the shaft and the base plate and ordered the closest thing I could find: Empi 00-4535-0 Gear Shift Boot. $10 and free shipping. I trimmed it a little shorter and it fit perfect, looks great.
The face of the tractor was smashed when I bought it. It was made of plastic and was probably old and brittle and something bumped it, causing it to break. I made a new one out of sheet metal (using a piece cut from an old truck hood I had laying around) and mounted some generic off road lights from wal-mart. I think it looks a lot better. I'll post a picture of it when I have enough posts to add pictures.
Anyways, the main question I have is around the loader. I can't find any info on this loader....
It looks like the hydraulic fluid is stored in the frame of the loader itself? I see what appears to be a fill cap up top near the valves but I don't see any drain plugs. Anyone know how to drain it and what type of fluid this thing would probably take?
Thanks.
