first off anyone who is looking to buy a cub cadet go to your local dealer not a big box store. my sales person was very proffesional and new his job and everything about my LT 1042
i was very happy about my purchase until after i got home. i seen a bad imperfection in my seat that i had not seen at the dealer so i called my dealer and he looked at the other LT's he had in stock and all the seats on them to had imperfections. turns out the way they was crated and shipped is what caused this. so he told me he would order me a seat and sure enough he ordered me a seat that was twice as nice as the one i had. the seat i had did not have cub cadet imprinted in it or arm rest bolt holes butt this one did i think it is the seat for the 1500 or the 2500. im thinking the big box stores would not have done this.

Always good to hear of the dealers who go you one better on service- it is EXACTLY why the purchase of one of these machines should be from a reputable dealer.

I was surprised when I ordered a new seat for my 682 that the MTD/CC seat is actually better than the old International Harvester seat was. Of course the 25 year old seat was stale, but the new seat is definitely better padded, has a higher back, and has water drain holes in case it gets caught in the rain, and has the Cub Cadet name imbossed into the back- A nice touch for the old tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

no complaints about Tractor Supply either

they loaded my LT1042 on the truck so i didnt have to,eventhough i had my ramps with me....
they also gave me a highback seat model with no problem for the same price....
the salesman explained quite a few items that i never saw on a lawn tractor b4...who would have thought of cruise control...lol...
they showed me the things i would need when my oil change was due..
and i loved the fact they had a no questions asked money back guarantee for 30 days and they would come and pick up my tractor if i couldn't get it there..
great crew and store...will shop there more often /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I was very impressed with my dealer too! When I purchased my Cub I had ordered a 2186. When they delivered I noticed right away that it was a 2518.
The only difference was the 2518 has the same transmission as the 3000 series. I couldn't have been more pleased because that was the one I really wanted.

No complaints about my local dealer either. They're 17 miles from me and when I needed the steering TSB done on my 2554 they came over and picked the tractor up, fixed it, and brought it back the same day. This at a time of year when their shop is filled with large expensive equipment owned by real farmers who need to be in the fields right now. I was impressed. I got just as much attention as the guys who just spent $150,000 there...
