Was terminated by Mahindra supposedly for not selling enough tractors. They aren't allowed to service or order parts any longer so now I will have to travel a substantial distance to the next dealer for service or any other mahindra needs. WTF? Anyone else heard of this?

My first thought would be if the old dealer told you this, and if it is the full story. Sorry for your pain either way. I am in the reverse situation. I was about a hundred miles each way to my two nearest dealers [ Rudyard, MI and West Branch, MI ], and now just got a big dealership ten miles away change over from Case to Mahindra... Zaremba Equipment in Gaylord, MI.
Sorry again... :)

Thanks Jerry, 100 miles would be a haul and 10 miles is probably about how far my dealer was, maybe a little less. Now I will have to travel about 35 miles one way.

John, I'm in Carencro LA, just north of Lafayette. The next closest dealer is in Abbeville, LA which will require a haul right through the middle of Lafayette,.. Which isn't that big of a city but there is plenty of traffic. It's 35 miles but will take an hour each way.

On another note, anyone have any experience removing the mmm from a Max 28XL?

If you look at some of the other Brand forums, you'll find similar threads.

The factory is often putting a lot of pressure on small dealers to Get Big, or Get Gone. Sign 'o the Times....

Perhaps you can find a large dealer that doesn't charge crazy prices for Shipping parts, and use a local independent shop, or the same one you were ?

Not just in ag equipment. The dealer who sold us our 18' Aluma tandem mentioned that some factory types were trying to dictate "showroom" size & configuration. Said they only backed off when he told they could cut him a check for his current on lot inventory...

My original dealer lost Mahindra due to inability to maintain insurance as required by corporate in 2006. They buy parts from another dealer and will do service but not warranty work.
I found that parts can be purchased from any dealer and shipped to your door.
So far, I have not required any repairs that I can't do myself. Mahindra's are pretty tough machines when not abused.
