My dog my tractor buddy was laid to rest today.

My Jack Russel Terrier has ended his reign over the little patch of ground here in WV. He was 13 or 14 years old and had a lot of life left in him. Tough to lose such a loyal companion. He was the kind of dog you would wish on a kid when they are about 7 years old. If you were out and about he was too. If I was on my tractor or 4 wheeler he was there with bells on. It never gets easier. I only wish that I was half the man that my dogs think I am.

i cant even imagine what your going through really. I dont know what is going to happen to me when i lose my 2 girls in my avatar. Ill lose it. So sorry about your loss. Im sure you gave your dog a wonderful life and he will be sadly missed. Ill go have another drink in honor of your dog even though i was about to go to bed. God bless him

They do have such an enduring way of teaching us and making our lives better. And always by asking so little, being satisfied with what they have, being so ready to go do something fun and just being fun pals. Always so sincere and in the moment.

My respect for them runs very deep. Their lives are short, but they seem to make the most out of it and never worry about the future. Where would we be without them?

I have lost a lot of dogs over the years. That is the problem with having multiple dogs at a time. It never gets easier and it should not. Each one is a unique special individual in their own right and we will remember them forever. I am so sorry for your loss. May the memory of your friend be with you and bring many smiles as you think of and remember their friendship.

I had to put down a 15-16 yo dog about a month ago, now trying to find a companion for our 7 yo lab. Seems like a never ending cycle, every 10-13 years, put one down, and get another one. Does not make it any less painful each time. If dogs would live as long as parrots, would not be the same.

Sincerely sorry to hear. I have had many dogs over the years, but our current inside dog is a 7 1/2 year old Yellow Lab. I have never, ever become so attached to any dog like I have this One. I truly love my "Lady Dog" and I don't look forward to the day that you have just experienced. I haven't had a drink of liquor in over 18 years, but when our "Lady Dog" passes away, I will take a hearty shot and offer a Toast to her.
