They do mate for life, as do other bird species, but when one of them dies, they don't have any problems finding another mate. It's natures way to keep the species alive.

I also don't think it's a wild goose, or at least not one that migrates across the continent. Many geese are semi domest from living on golf courses or publick parks. This one has a band, so we're real curious about that. I'm tempted to catch him just to see what it says!!!

We also have a local zoo that he may have come from. Too many options to choose from.

As it is, we're very happy to have him hear and are enjoying our nightly fish feeding time tremendously!!!!
