Hi,
Looking for tips/ or how to grade out and build a concrete pad for a barn project. Barn will be 24x36 when finished out, not a pole barn,
thanks, never done it before, I live in SC so deep freeze line is no a big issue, thanks again, brett

I would mainly recommend that, if you have to add fill, you do it with material that can be compacted real good (sand, gravel, etc.). That way you will less likely get settling after the slab is poured. Good drainage of any ground above and around the pad site for future runoff (pad high enough with good drainage around it). I'd pour a pad that has extra thickness and re-bar around the edges, have a poly moisture barrier under the concrete, and have fibers in the concrete.
As far as termites, check with local building practices (don't have them here).

Also, make it a planned site so you can easily expand the barn, as that often is the first thing one wants to do after the first one is completed (not big enough /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif )
