Wow, what a great evening. Got 3 hours of seat time tonight. The Tractor now has 3.4 hours on it. I mowed a little grass with the 60" deck, dug out a small stump (I'm going to need a lot of time to learn the BH), hauled some firewood and dirt around in the FEL. My wife drove it around some too. I love the tractor and all the dirt/mud on it shows just how much. I have decided that I need to take the mower off for the kind of work I want to do with the BX over the next few weeks... I'll just keep mowing with the Wheel Horse 314. Thanks to all of you who sent me the information I needed to make my pictures smaller.... I'll get some posted this weekend. As far as "break-in". My dealer told me just to take it easy with the machine for the first few hours and run it at different RPM's as much as I could, but he said not to baby it. Well I'm still taking it easy and I will for some time to come. 20 years in the Submarine Force taught me alot about taking care of equipment.

Congratulations on the new Kubota Tractor! You'll be an expert on the backhoe in no time.

Enjoy!

You'll also want to remove the 'hoe and FEL when mowing with the MMM on the BX for maximum manuverabilty, safety and for less compression of your turf.

Congratulations on your new BX!

You'll find, as I have, that you'll rapidly get "in the zone" with the FEL and will amaze your friends with its capabilities and speed. I just cut 18" deep x 5' wide x 8' long slot out of a shallow hill just to improve the angle of approach to the stairs of our deck in the trees. It took 15 minutes. I never would have even considered that without a BX with a FEL.

I think the mower deck is a pain in the jeans to put back on. I rarely take it off. I have two boys who mow with the BX so we need the deck almost constantly. Once you get a good, level spot and figure out the levers, you can remove the FEL in a minute or two. Putting it back on is also very, very easy.

In addition to the already great advice you have received...

I have found that some wine and cheese also suites the bx at the end of the day. The nice thing about the bx is that is does not mind too much if you help it empty its glass... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Works the same with larger tractors too...but around my place they seem to prefer beer over wine for some reason... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Enjoy that tractor...that tool...the wife is not right...it is not a toy... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
