Tractor
JD 5045D ,Belarus 250as
After a lot of consideration on what kind of tractor to buy,I finally decided on the 5045D. I was leaning toward a 2000 JD4500 4x4 w loader, but after all the trouble I 've had with used tractors, I decided to buy me a new one.The 4500 was a nice tractor but didn't look like it had been taken care of.So ,after sruggling to decide,I order it Friday.I hope I made a good decision!
Options I got are:
Front hood guard
weight bracket w/200lbs weight
under hood exhuast
Air intake preheater
upgraded tire size
telescoping lift arms
6' rotary cutter
Now I got to wait until Nov.5,It's killing me!!!!

It's hard to wait all right...

What sorts of things are you going to be doing with it?

I do a good bit of bush hoging, plowing on my hunting clubs.I also try and keep the roads scraped and try to maintain the roads in my grandmothers trailor park.I plan on this tractor lasting me a lifetime. It's probably a little more tractor than I need but I would rather have too much power(if there's a such thing) than not enough.

I like your thinking. That is one sweet tractor, congrats on the purchase. Be sure to post pictures of your new ride when you get er'.

Nice tractor! The only thing I see missing from the option list you'll be sorry you didn't get is dual rear SCV's. I guarantee you you'll at least want top and tilt on it eventually, so they'll be needed, and it's best to get them from the factory git-go.

I just got my brand new 5045D about a month ago and LOVE IT! It's a great machine and a lot of tractor for today's money. I've been using the crap out of it and it's just a great machine.

Mine came with rear SCV's and as far as I know they were standard equipment. I didn't pay any extra for them. I wish I would have gotten the low exhaust. Since I didn't I have to keep it in the only building I have with a tall enough door for it which means that it must be moved outside for me to use my 2 post lift.

I bought it from a Mega Dealer and they had two of them set up with loaders and ready for delivery. I only had to wait less than a week to get it home and it still cost me some sleep. It will be worth waiting for though.

I wonder if between Shane, bgl and myself, we have enough for a 5045D forum on here?

I like those tractors a lot. Something special when you look at their stance.

They look like a defensive lineman all fired up and ready for a sack.:thumbsup:

Yeah! The 5045D Club! I like it!:D

I'm thinking I need to add Top and Tilt now. Anyone done it on one of the 5 series tractors?

I pick mine up today! I've been maintaining 120 acres with a mid 60's International Farmall 140 up until now. Definitely nice seeing how many people own and like the 5045's. Makes me feel better about the purchase!
