We have signed the paperwork, and our new BX25 should make it to the house this afternoon. I'll try to get some pics posted if I can figure out how to go about that, and maybe even some video on youtube. We are being forced by Madison County KY to connect to the new sewer line and decommission our septic system within 90 days. Since it's down hill all the way from the house to the sewer line, all I need to do is dig below the frost line and that's not all that deep in central KY. I'll post photos of that project once it is under way. We took the Kubota insurance, it was a little more expensive than adding the tractor to our homeowner's, but I like that the tractor will be covered even if I use a friend's truck and trailer to take it to my inlaw's house. I thought I got a good deal from Northside in Richmond, they are good people with a long history selling Kubotas.
My dad owns a Kubota that he purchased in the late 70's or maybe 1980 at the latest. It still works, and that's how I picked the orange tractor over the other choices. Dad used his machine to till hundreds of gardens, I wouldn't be surprised if the real number was close to a thousand since he tilled the same gardens every year, sometimes twice a year. He tilled gardens every spring after work (3pm) and every weekend until dark unless it was too wet. I know I helped him replace the tiller tines twice between the purchase and 1984. All that abuse, and the tractor works like a champ. I'm ready for mine to get here, too bad it's raining today or I'd go dig something.
I owe this website and it's users some gratitude, otherwise I'd have no idea if I was getting a good deal or getting screwed, and I also learned a good bit about the BX 25. I just got a call, it will be here in two hours!
