I finally bought a new Kubota!! I have owned two previous diesel tractors in the last four years: 1991 Case 1130 Gear 2wd and a 2003 Kubota BX 1500, FEL, MMM, box blade The Case 1130 had great power for running a 4ft brush mower but it lacked hydrostatic trans and FEL and 4wd. The BX had the features but it was too small to run a brush mower and lacked power in high grass with the MMM. I sold the Kubota for nearly the same price I paid for it last year and tried to get by with two riding lawn mowers. I do all my own work like front axle pivot seals in the BX and foot throttle cable on the 1130, changing all fluids, fixing broken linkages, broken motor counter weight frame on the BX... etc that can get old on high hour /older machines.
I broke down and started looking seriously in April. I looked at the sub compact Deere 1023, kioti CS 2210, and the Kubota 1870-1. Deere has MD taxes and the non regenerative loader valve that irritates me more than the 3pt position control delights. Kioti was nice with great specs but the dealer seems a little odd and I want to know I can get parts locally for a long time. I liked the kubota with the regenerative loader valve and parts accessibility and after market support and I am familiar with both dealer and product. Went to local Kubota dealer (Burke Equipment in Delmar DE) and negotiated a BX 1870, FEL, 54"MMM, quick connect with pallet forks. Went home talked to the wife over the weekend. She told me to go for the BX 2370 to get more power and R4 tires. I called first thing on Monday and requested a change to BX2370 w r4s, FEL, MMM, LP box blade. I have already ordered a brotek skid plate like I had put on the BX1500 and a titan trailer mover (I sold all my attachments after selling the BX).
Cant decide between a 4ft tiller or 4ft brush mower.....
here she is making it home from the dealership
