My Kioti Tractor wouldnt start in Freezing Temps, what I found out.......

I have a Kioti RX 7320 and it hasn't been starting when the temperatures are below freezing. During the Winter Storms that ran across the country, here in Arkansas, it got really cold and we noticed that the seat was rock solid. We then tried bypassing the seat safety switch and boom it started. Below is a video I made describing how we bypassed the switch. wow, frozen seat means no start. I wouldn't have thought about that, thanks for the info!
I wish there was some type dash light for certain sensor issues. My zero turn has about 27 safety's, it has a light to tell you there is an issue, but not which one.

With the "normal" things that cause hard diesel starting in cold temps, who would have thought that adding a seat switch to the pile would be included. Does your tractor sit outside?

I have had Zero Turns not start in winter, because the vinyl seat gets so cold and won't allow a start. I was not mowing in the winter, but moving it to another location.

live up north - had to do that on my tractor because the seat freezes. However, on mine, it would start fine (had to be in neutral to start) - the safety switch would only trigger if you then put it in gear.

Really?? I have owned 2 kioti tractors 2008 & 2012 and NEVER had a cold start problem here in Michigan.By the looks of your video did you leave your tractor outside in a snowbank.Laffin

Good example of something to check when it won't start. Have to say I'm glad mine doesn't have a seat-nanny switch on it. It's parked in an unheated shop building all winter.

I had the same issue with a JD years ago. Was the first seat safety switch I ever disconnected. Everything and anything I have purchased since then if it had one it was disconnected before I loaded it on the trailer to come home or it didn稚 come home. Just don稚 need the aggravation when it always creates problems at the worst time, like need to open up the drive from drifts in zero degree weather. Who in thier right mind wants to be out fiddling, trouble shooting with a no start when the wind is blowing making it feel it痴 -20.
