Howdy everyone, just wanted to let the world know how much I love my tractor. could of had anything I wanted the wife said, but the cheep bas$#*d in me wouldnt let me spend $13,000 on a new JD and the rows of christmas trees wouldnt allow me to have a tractor over 4ft wide so i was kinda stuck. I looked at all they grey market tractors and the kubuto compacts and 6 to 8 thousand was to much also. I met a fellow with a mt372 and bought it for $2500 with a 5FT JD bushhog and was tickled with it ,but the front was a little lite when I picked up the bushhog so I added a 150lb chunk of steel on the front and was impressed with the whole thing. A couple of weeks ago I added some ag tires on the rear and now I am a tractor god. This thing will go anywhere. yesterday I pushed over a old pine stump and grined from ear to ear /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. The wife said get over it I owed most of my success to the terimites flying out the hole the stump left.

WHAT EVER !!!!!!! what does she know /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

You just cant beat these littl machines

Were in Chesterfield va, The next county under Richmond on the weather map we also have a larger christmas tree farm in mecklenburg county which is on the sothern border of virginia beside Buggs Island lake and John H kerr Dam. I was down there tis weekend and the flood gates were open. People were hauling 25 to 50 lb catfish out from behind the dam. something about the extra water allows the big fish to swim up the river better

MT372 Tractor and rotary cutter

I recently purchased a used MT372 with a loader and a Land Pride post hole digger. I use it for moving piles of dirt and mulch but would like to purchase a rotary cutter for cutting about 4 acres of long grass and clover. Most of the cutters I've seen recommend 20 hp minimum and this tractor is only 15hp. Christmasspruce mentioned a 5' brush hog on his tractor - does that work ok or does it bog down? Can anyone recommend a cutter that works well on this tractor? What cutter should I avoid?

Re: MT372 Tractor and rotary cutter

I don't know where you live, but around here (western MD), the Tractor Supply stores carry King Kutter rotary cutters in 4' width for under $500. I think that would be a much better choice for your MT372. As long as your tractor width (outside edge of rear tire to outside edge of other rear tire) is narrow enough, a 42" roatary cutter would be even better, but they are not so easy to find.

Re: MT372 Tractor and rotary cutter

I have an MT 372 also with a 4 foot finishing mower and my tractor is 15HP and it handels it very well. I bought the tractor for 3,000.00 with 404 hours and a 4 foot box blade and a new finishing mower made by DRAGON PRODUCTS out of TEXAS. I will bring the manual to work Monday and email you the info on it. I cut about 3 to 4 acers with no problems.
