Twenty three years ago when I first started working at the Civic Center, this tractor and mower were only a couple of years old. For the first few years I used it to maintain the grounds there. But for the last ten or twelve years it has been sitting in the shed. We were able to use state prison labor to do the grounds, so we didn't need to use it. But last summer it got really hard for us to get prison labor, even though we are a private, not for profit. We decided to buy a 72" Scag Turf Tiger. Since then I have been trying to talk the Board of Directors into selling the old tractor to me. I made an offer of $1.5K about six months ago, but they hadn't gave me an answer. Well they had a Board Meeting on Wednesday night and gave me the go ahead to buy it. On Thursday I took my boss a check and brought it home. This morning I washed it up a little. It will take more scrubbing to look good, but here she is. Oh, I forgot to mention it had 226.6 hours when I backed it off the trailer. {I mowed for a little over an hour this morning before I started scrubbing}

I was raising the lift to turn around while I was mowing, so I didn't realize one of the rear wheels on the mower wouldn't pivot until I started going in circles around trees to mulch up some leaves. That is when I stopped to clean and grease it. The grease fitting on the stuck wheel assembly was so clogged I put a new one in. It still took me a little while to work it loose. But all the belts and pulleys look like they are in good shape. I'll see how close Lowe's can match the Woods colors. My BIL works up there, and he can give me a good deal on the paint. But even if I never get it cleaned up very much, it will still cut grass.
