Hi;

I am a new member and have just purchased a new Dongfeng 254 with the 390 engine, shuttle shift, deluxe seat, rear remotes, townsunny 250 loader, R4 tires, and cab with heat. I purchased it from B&B small engines and they have a large repair shop and a large array of spare parts. Owner is very knowledgeable and even has been over to the factory in China to see the production. I feel I got a good price and will have good after sale service.

I looked at the Foton 254 with cab as well and liked the cab better but the shifter was not as nice and had the turf tires and was over $4000.00 more so I went with the DF.

Congratulations on the purchase. There are a few DF owners here.

Where are you located? I have never seen a DF tractor around here, just Jinma and Foton. Where is the dealer you bought it from also?

Hi;

Sorry about not having my location in my profile, that is now fixed. I bought from B&B which is about a 45 minute drive from my house. I live between Montreal and Toronto and dealer is midway between me and Ottawa.

Tractor is being delivered on Wednesday so I have a 3 day wait.

All fluids have been drained and refilled with proper high quality replacements.

I drove the tractor around his lot and it works nice. Started right up at 15 degrees F without use of preheater. Syncro transmission and shuttle shift work nice and smooth. Loader was a little slow at first but quickly sped up as it warmed up. Steering was great, almost too easy. Not the quietest inside the cab, there is no radio and I know why as you would not hear it. Window latches on the cab are very flimsy and that is the only real bad part I noticed on the tractor.

I paid $13500.00 for this tractor and feel happy with this price considering it is fully prepped and ready to go.

Thanks, Cleat

Congrats and Welcome!

I'm one of the DF owners and not too far from you. I'm in Ajax but the tractor is close to Bancroft at the cottage. I have the DF354 with the 4cyl (490) engine and of course the 354 is bigger with no SS - straight gear but very smooth. But the SS almost had me convinced to get the 254. The SS wasn't available on the 354/404's as it is now. Is the $13500 all in, if so sounds like a good deal preped and all. I think you will enjoy the DF. I have found the quality and features excellant value for the price. I have a Townsunny BH as well. Runs well direct off the rear remotes. Its nice know a lot more dealers in southern Ont. and across Canada who are all very helpfull and for ordering parts and great info. Haven't yet deal with any locally but Ray Hillman is one of many in Can. who is in Alberta where I have gotten parts from.

HIs site has lots of good info including filter cross references.

DEVONN TRACTORS

Even though dealer preped, not a bad idea to check and go over everything especially bolts etc. Any new machine after some time running will loosen up.

Enjoy Dave

That price is without taxes. I will keep an eye on everything especially for the first bit.

My new tractor and 72" finishing mower has arrived. So far all I have done is drive it around the yard with my 5 year old daughter Bailey as a co-pilot.

Runs perfect and I can't wait to put it to work.

That's a beautiful rig :thumbsup:
Curious if the doors and other windows are glass or plastic?

All windows and doors are glass. Back window support shocks are very strong, I hope I don't break the glass closing it. Back window and side window latches are kind of flimsy (one side window latch was broken when I first saw this tractor but a new one is on order) Door latches are nice.

I see Carl is still using the same trailer to deliver tractors:eek:. Looks nice -- you will appreciate the cab during our lovely winters:thumbsup:
