my new LT 1046

I just picked up my new 1046. Had to wait about 30min because it was still in the crate. Althought I haven't used it yet, I get the feeling that this mower is a lot better than the JD L111 that I just returned.

I never used one, but they seem like a great machine for the money, longevity/quality should be the same as the JD "L" (100) series. Out of curiosity, why did you return the JD111?

My first choice in riding mowers was the CC. But due to the hurricane in LA, the delivery of new mowers was on hold. Since I have very little patience, I went to Home Depot and purchased the L111. I am not a huge fan of Briggs & Stratton motors but I purchased it anyway. The cruise didn't maintain the speed in which it was set. To make a long story short, the CC mowers arrived and I took advantage of the 30 day free trial that JD offers. Let me tell you, both of these mowers are the exact same price but I think the CC will blow away the JD. The engine is so much smoother on the CC. I'm actually amazed that these two machines are the same price. The CC gives you three more HP (20 Briggs vs 23 Kohler), bigger deck (42" Deere vs 46" CC) and push button PTO. I haven't cut a blade of grass yet, but right now I am very satisfied with my purchase. If you're thinking of buying a JD L111, you owe it to yourself to check out the CC LT1046.
