Howdy, just joined up. :newhere:
I previously owned a Kubota B7100, a 48" shredder (cheap one from TSC), a 48" box blade (again, cheap one from TSC) and a 3 point dump scoop (found used at local tractor resale shop) when I owned my last weekend property (pre-divorce). Sold it after I sold the property during the divorce. Now, 9 years post divorce, I've bought another small weekend property. I've got 7.5 acres, mostly wooded and located in thousands of acres of live oak woods. I've almost finished building a 390 sq. ft. camp house there. Did the entire interior with cedar, 10/12 roof, and with a sleep loft.
Now, after doing a lot of hand digging for piers, lifting lumber and such by hand; I've decided to buy another compact tractor. Went into the local Kubota dealer and while talking to one salesman, another salesman I had dealt with before, came into the showroom from a meeting he had off premises. He told me a friend of his had a used B7300 for sale and that it is in really good shape. I went look at the B7300 and the rest is history. The owner of the B7300 even threw in a virtually new Bush Hog 48" shredder. I went back to the Kubota dealer and had him order a FEL for me. The previous owner of the B7300 was even kind enough to deliver the tractor to the dealer and pay for a service of the unit, a really nice gentleman I must say! The FEL is costing me a little more than I anticipated but having one on the tractor was important to me and over all I think I'm comming out OK on the deal. One of the things I have planned is to repair part of a levy so what was a pond previously will again hold water. It will be slower going with the compact but I know it can be done and I'll enjoy using my own tractor instead of renting. Now all I have to do is wait a couple of weeks for the FEL to come in.
