My New Remaned Head

Got the remanufactured head from fredricks today.

Here are some photos.

Not sure what the silver thingie is.

Nice. How long did it take to get there ? I know you got it fast. Tom & the boys don't play around when it comes to shipping . I ordered filters yesterday, got them today at noon today !

Ordered it last Friday and got it today.

Still looking it over, noticed that valves are not new. Couple even have some pretty good sized divits in them. Not sure about valve guides and seals.

I see some cracks and assume they are not major, I assume they mag'ed the head after fixing. I thought my head was bad until I seen what they had to do to this head to fix it.

Is it ok to put anti-sieze on new upper and lower chambers along with injectors?

Same two cylinders on this head were bad like mine. Cy 3 is in great shape, just like mine. Wonder what the cause was?

Will call fredricks tomarrow and ask about guides, seals, springs, and valves.

I would call & ask about the cracks in the re- man head......You can put anti seize on there ,but I don't think it will withstand the heat

That silver round thing in #3 looks like what the rebuilder uses to tell if a warranty returned head was overheated.
If the tab is melted they will deny any claim by you, should you return this head durring a warranty period..We see them on auto engine heads from rebuilders.
