I picked up a black face MM200 circa 1989 for $600 with gas bottle. I graduated from a 110v Flux machine. All I can say is, WOW! This is the best money I've ever spent. Once I got a feel for the settings, it's almost effortless to run a bead with this thing. I'm actually finding myself looking through my scrap pile for things to weld. Now I just need to run down a Spoolmatic 1 if anybody has a line on a good one.

That looks to be a handy little trailer. I assume that is your build... what do you plan to use it for?

Nice job on the trailer

I’d be worried about the edges of the expanded metal curling up on you though and possibly puncturing tires.

Thats pretty late for a MM200. I am not sure but that may need a Spool matic 1 and the adapter panel. Call the factory with your serial number and they can walk you through the details.

The MM200 and the Vintage were two of my favorite mig machines. I like lots of inductance in my arc. Many of the SCR machines or inverters just feel too stiff and hard to use on poor fit up and thin metal. Oldie but goodie. Great find at a great price.

Thanks,
I'm not sure I understand your concern though.

Thanks, yes I built it. We plan to haul ATVS and whatever else we may need it for. That will probably consist of hauling furniture toi, with three kids in college.

Thanks, I'm really liking using it so far. It has the 4 pin connection on the front panel. That requires the Spoolmatic 1 from what I can tell.

I guess my only concern would be IF something heavy were to “dent” your expanded steel floor, the edges MAY want to pop up.

Doesn’t take much to pop an ATV tire or cut your hand. Depending on the gauge of expanded metal and quality/number of weld tacks you may be okay.

Once again, nice looking trailer.
