After months of research including many test drives and visits to many dealers and also the agony deciding between orange and green ...I have just ordered a JD 4410 with 430 FEL and oversized R-4's.

The thing that finally got me was the feel everytime I drove the JD...it just felt right and the controls were much better. The JD rebate also helped out a lot in final decision as I basically upgraded from the 4310 for no cost.

I am also getting an MX-5 cutter, 550 Tiller and front loader balade for snow.

So now it is waiting time until delivery day. Anxious to hear from anyone else who made similiar decision. I will post my real feelings on D-Day.

Many thanks to all who gave me advise and answered many questions at this site.

Congratulations on your order. Just like a kid before Christmas, huh!!! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I hope that the dealer discounted your FEL and implements. Did you research implements made by another manufacturer? The front blade and tiller will be well made. There has been some previous discussions about the Deere rotary cutters and you may wish to look those up. Some of the Deere models have not performed very well due to their construction. Not sure if the MX-5 is one of the badies or not.

I ordered mine two weeks ago with the oversized R4 tires and the dealer said they had been getting them in about 10 days. Now they say the oversizes tires are holding the build date up, JD has a build date of May 15, but they say it could move up. I looked at all the brands that had a dealer within 50 mi and like you I like the layout/ features of the JD best. I hope they get it built quick because it is taking 12+ hours to mow the yard at our new house with my JD 265 lawn tractor and still cutting the grass at our old house untill the new owners move here from St Louis.

estamas... congrats on your decision... I just picked up my 4310 with oversized R4's and love it (see JD owning/operating) The oversized tire didn't hold up my order (I am glad I took the oversized option)! Time wise I ordered the 4310 on March 10th and took delivery on April 26th... dealer had to install/mount 430 fel w/4 in 1 bucket... 48 Back Hoe (w/18" bucket) Xtra Armor Kit... and extra lights. They received the Tractor on Monday 4/22 and Delivered it to me on 4/26. Technician told me he put about 40 hours into the setup! (a lot of plumbing involved with the 4 in 1).

Wow /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif....you mean it took Mark five 8-hour days to set up your 4310. My gosh, what did you have him do? Mark tells me I could expect about $400-500 in dealer install items...about 8-10 hours worth. Rest of options...mostly hydraulic...are supposed to be factory installed. Was all this work just to install the hydraulics to operate the 4in1? It seems everything else, except the Power Beyond Kit for the backhoe should be a quick hitch that shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes.

Bob... shame on you... don't you know that the dealer has to install the FEL and the BH? Wow I didn't realize what has to be done to install especially the BH and the 3rd control valve for the 4 in 1 Bucket (wait until you get the owners/installation manuals that come with each)! Literally the rear of the tractor has to be removed (to do it right)... wheels removed etc. Not to mention the additional wiring required for the extra lighting I ordered. They will present you with the manuals for each! I have to tell you the delivery experience was magnificant... even the tech (Jason) came outside (in the sleet and rain) for the delivery! They (Mark and Jason) went over everything... how to take off/install the FEL and the BH as well as starting, running, breakin, 1st service, questions... etc. we froze our A_ _ 'es off but they did not falter!
A really great experience!

Maybe not 40 hours but I believe the better part of it... plus Jason (the tech) delivered it to my site!
After dealing with dealers and people that would literally not give you the time of day when it came to asking questions etc. I can only sing the praises of K.C. Canary (Mark Bruckner) in Fultonville NY.
Let me know if you agree (I understand your tractor is in and Jason is doing the setup).

Thanks Jim!! Didn't mean to come across harshly but I'm pretty ignorant about these things...learning as I go along as they say. I know the hydraulics can be time consuming to set up, but if I recall right, in my case with the 4710 it is supposed to be a factory install. Now, I'm also getting the 4th and 5th SCVs...this is a different matter altogether....dealer install....that should be I guess 80 hours /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif.

Yep...this is what Mark told me, arrival in late April...a few days set-up...with early May delivery. I'll likely do what you did...go over to complete the paperwork, give Mark my down payment, review all the operating procedures with Mark and Jason, and then off to Cambridge we all go.

Looking forward to reading those techie manuals... suppose it will take me about a week to get through them all before I even use the tractor.

Well, I'm happy for you but soon mine will be here and we can trade war stories with those stumps. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Even thoug each of the manuals are 3/4" thick...half of them are in a different languge! So you only have to worry about half of it (them). I am sure your delivery experience will be as through/pleasant as mine... let me (us) know when you actually get it (take plenty of pictures) and keep us posted on your projects!

Will do and looking forward to sharing project experiences. Those were great pics you posted in Owning/Operating forum. What kind of digicam do you have? Myself....don't have one yet, but it seems having one is a prerequisite for posting here at TBN. Any recommendations on cameras, prices, etc??
