I lost my home made spreader bar by not securing it well to my tractor. I scrounged around my shop and found a couple of pieces of telescoping aluminum tubing to make another.....although this one is different and much better than my first. The spring pin inside the tubes allows for pretty quick adjustments. Pics are attached showing it closed and adjusted to a working width. I have about 7" of adjustment which I think should work fine (but my tractor is 200 miles away). Inside the tube is a "spring pin" adjustment ball....similar to that used in some tent poles and many other devices. Round tubes may work better than square....cause you could twist the tube slightly to make more rapid adjustments. I had square on hand, and I'm tight ....so........
I just put some bolts in the tube ends to fit into the holes suppied in the PEC system.
I highlighted the drilled holes with a red marker....hopefully you can see 'em. I also numbered the holes....hopefully I can remember which hole to use with what implement.
If I had a little more material I would have made it in three sections instead of two as shown. This would allow it to stow away more compactly in the tractor tool box. Which is the way Pat should do it.
Would be cheaper to ship too.
