We have had the farm for over 6 years and while my wife loves it, she has had to work hard to get comfortable around the tractor on slopes. Finally this spring the dam seemed to break. I have been in la and she has been maintaining the farm. She has figured out how to attach implements and is now mowing larger and larger parts of the property.
Well. Anyway, today she was mowing the upper meadow. The grass was a good 3 foot high. I am not sure yet how it all went down but she hit her first rabbit family. As you can imagine quite traumatic.. Apparently 1 made a clean escape, one was injured and maybe 2 or three not so lucky. On top of it all the dog grabbed the one with the injured leg and took off with it....
It breaks my heart to not be there for her.
I have to say that she calmed down a lot quicker than I thought she would and claims she will mow tomorrow.. Crossing my fingers and toes .....
