I get to Lexington about every 6 weeks for the last several months. Easiest airport I've ever seen to get in and out of.

I live about 15 miles from Rabbit Hash and know exactly where it is - Go south on 42 from Florence, through Sugartit, turn right at Beaver Lick (dont miss it or you'll end up in Mud Lick), Past Big Bone Lick State Park and follow the sign to Rabbit Hash /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif If you doubt me look it up on a map!

Thanks for the replies everyone. I didn't realize this thread was active until today. After the original thread was moved to Meetings & Get-Togethers, I stopped checking this one, but happened to notice it today.

So, for those of you who live in the Lexington area, what would it take money-wise to find about a 2000 sq ft house on at least 5 acres and still be within about a 30 minute drive to the city? Right now I have a 2000 sq ft house with a 28'x28' garage on 6 nice acres and when I refinanced it 2 years ago it appraised for $145k. I have a feeling that's pretty cheap compared to the Lexington area, am I right?

budman72 - I haven't been to the horse park yet, but it sounds like a must see. I don't have horse yet, but would like to have some.

Another question I have is about the winters. Does it snow enough there for the kids to be able to go sledding?

We get some snow falls every year, but they typically don't stay on the ground more than a few days, 2 weeks tops. Usually in the 2" or 3" range, maybe one snowfall a season greater than 3".

Actually if your in S. Indiana, I would expect the weather in Lexington to very similiar to what you experience.
