My son with his deer

Well, I hope someday, Jack is just over 3 years old, he loves the tractor, quad and deer, mama ain't keen on this kind of activity but he likes to see the deer

Just came across your post and wanted to compliment you on it. I think it's great to expose kids to the outdoors and show them what fun it can be. I grew up in the SF East Bay of California, and while we went camping all the time, allot of the kids that I know were afraid of deer and anything outdoors.

With a smile like he has, it's just a matter of time until he's posing with one that he shot himself!!!

Thank you. My wife cautions that I should expose him to it without pushing him, she sais that he may end up having interests much different from mine. It is hard for me because my calendar doesn't go by month but by season, is it freshwater fishing season, saltwater fishing, striper season, fluke season, bow, rifle, whatever, even ice fishing. It is natural that I get my son involved because it is what I do and it just happens that we do it together, right now because he doesn't have much choice because he just likes to tag along. I hope that he can enjoy it as much as I do, time will tell I guess.

He's right, spending time with the kids has huge rewards for both of you. Sure, his interests will change as he gets older, but he'll never forget those times spent with Dad, no matter how old he gets.
I always love to see photos of kids enjoying activities with their Dads and Moms. It always makes my day.

Great to hear he's your tag-a-long, I wouldn't trade anything for the time me and kids spend together. Daughter is 12 and used to go hunting and fishing with me, she's into the more girlie things now....lol, My son is 6, he goes everywhere with me, been going hunting with me since he was 2, riding the my quad since he was 3,(throttle adjusted of course) just introduced him to bass fishing this summer, he caught his first bass on an artificial lure, the only fish caught that day. Last year he shot at his first deer, but missed, gonna work on getting him that first kill this year......... I'm one proud Dad!!!
