I put the 5' rototiller on the Kioti CK20 last night and went out to what used to be a pasture for the horses but is going to be a new planting for raspberries, now.

I had previously round-uped the soil so it was a matter of tilling it. I put the tiller down, and set the throttle at 2500 rpm AND then set the cruise to a crawl. Beautiful!

Using the same rototiller on the 40 horse gear tractor, I set the rpm that high and even in low low, it is too fast for the rototiller to do what I want. The cruise and HST are a wonderful improvement!

Yep, without a creeper gear, most gear tractors have too fast a low gear to run a tiller at PTO speed unless the ground has been well worked before.

I have a gear tractor and and HST. The HST is the one I always use to roto till with. Not only does it go slow but the speed is infinitely variable which comes in handy going around obsticles.
Yes HST is very well suited for tilling. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Gene, I hate to say it, and I hope you won't take offense, but you look mighty small compared to that monster behind you!

No offense taken.

Actually that is a picture of my then 7 year old son posing in front of my "normal sized" F350.

I'll try to post a clearer picture.
