This happened the other day i went to crank my tractor turned the ignition switch backwards to energize the glow plugs the light did not come on my fuel gauge went to full. I had a friend come over and we checked most of the switch's they all appear to be OK including the ignition switch, battery had 12.6 volts He thinks the safety control modual mounted on the firewall under the hood may have gone bad. I was wondering if this is a common problem. I checked with our local dealer he said this modual is about 245.00. Thats a lot of money any info would be appreciated. Thanks :(

I don't have a TC-30 so my comments won't apply directly to your tractor. I would do a lot more checking before replacing the module @ $245.
Did the gauge lights come on when you turned the ignition switch to the glow plugs? Accessory lights and gauges should work in that position. Some others here on the forum can give your better information than me about testing and what to test. It could be the ign switch itself, but there are some tests that can help determine that. Did the starter turn over after this happened, or was there no power to anything? Wait for others to help on this problem before spending any money.

Normally when everything else is powered and the engine won't crank, it's the Neutral sensing switch or PTO On circuits causing the problem. The operator safety module normally gets input from the seat switch and allows the engine to crank over, but not start. On my tractor, the operator safety module only keeps the fuel solenoid from energizing. It will not stop the engine from cranking.

Try your headlights. If they come on bright, then you probably don't have dirty battery terminals. You can hotwire jump your starter by connecting the +12 VDC input lug to the solenoid lug and that should cause the engine to crank over. I just think you have a Neutral Sensing or PTO On switch malfunction or the wiring has broken or come loost at the connetions that hang down under the tractor.
