My Tractor Has 1500+ HP How About Yours?

I figured that I would get your attention if I mentioned BIG HP. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I have never seen a post here at the TBN site regarding the custom tractors used in tractor pulls across the nation like the ones used in the various State Tractor Pullers Associations. I would think that more that a couple of enthusiasts also post at this very site.

Man, that’s the place to go if you like lots of noise and the smell of diesel or alcohol for that matter. And the action well is amazing to say the least. I know they can’t be lumped in with the garden variety or compact tractors, but hey they are still tractors nevertheless.

The wife and I never seem to miss a season of the Ohio action although I swear my wife tags along for all the great food offered by the vendors. Is there anyone else interested in these beasts out there? Maybe if there was a LOT of interest we might talk to the man about adding a new category for Tractor Pullers.

And with reflections from Timmy Tool time coming soon I think they are a lot of fun. Used to play with some 400 and 500 horsepower farm tractors for the local county fairs but never did any more then walk thru the pits and talk with the operators of these newer monsters.

I used to attend the tractor pulls at county fairs back in the early 80's and really enjoyed them. And that was long before I even owned any tractor myself. It would be interesting to learn if any TBN members own a custom pulling tractor or farm stock pulling tractor.

Slamfire if you are still riding them then you are still young at heart. I have seen all ages at the pulls.

I typically go to the tractor pull at our county fair. Do you ever come down to Southern Ohio? Say like the Ross County Fair in Chillicothe? Or anywhere down this way?

Things sometimes happen too fast for me on the Wheel Horse, I'd hate to have 100 times the hp to handle.

Don't get that far south. We have been to Warren, Ohio Wooster, Ohio Portage County, Summit County, and Stark County fairs for the pulls. Wife chimes in and says food too! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the memories! Used to take my two son's to them back when they were just gettin' to be the 'thing'. Before the commercial guy's got to it all. Plenty of smoke and noise! Although just spectators, we had enormous appreciation for the effort on those rigs!
