I thought some of you might be interested in seeing my latest project since I got home.
Ever since I got my GC, it's had to sit outside. So to get it out of the weather I decided to build a small tractor shed for it. The original design start life as a basic loafing shed, but with the help of some plans I found online via some county in Colorado, it morphed to something a little bigger. My county has a 200 square foot limit on outbuildings before you have to get permit, ag building are permit exempt, except you have to show $1500 a year in ag revenue before they waive the fees....
I sized it at 14' X 14' (196sq ft.), that makes it big enough to hold my GC and also my Mule and some other things I'd like to keep covered.
Basically it's a small pole-style building, with a metal roof and T1-11 siding. Nothing spectacular, but it's the largest wooden 'thing' I've ever built, so it's a big project to me.
It's taken about two weeks of me and the dog (and sometimes SWMBO and my boys) working a couple hours each morning before I leave for work to get it nearly completed. I need to finish up some trim, and get it painted (if the weather holds out a few more days...).
Initially I was just going to leave it as a dirt floor and an open front, but now that it's mostly complete, I've been pondering about placing some concrete and building doors for it.... but I still haven't decided.
I've got a small set of solar panels that I was planning on mounting, so I can have basic lighting and maybe a trickle charger to keep the equipment batteries alive.
Anyways, I'll post up a few more pictures as I finish it up.
