Did your regular homeowners ins take care of it, or is other ins needed?

My trailor is listed on my auto insurance. I think it costs me $12 a yr to insure it.

It doesn't matter what you do they will get your stuff if they want it - PERIOD.

I had a bran new 16' - with 4 ' sides dump trailer that had a locked tongue, chained to a tree, and behind a locked gate........AND IT WAS FULL OF TRASH BESIDES, and they still got it, trash and all.

Funny thing was I had a tough time pulling that beast with a 3500 dually and I could tell they had a smaller pick up because the back tires of the pick up looked like he was spinning out the whole way out the 600 ft. gravel drive way, till they hit asphalt.

I've been hit so many times I just gave up.

Lately even though I have locking gas caps they have cut the filler hose on my commercial trucks to steal the gas. Better I leave the locking gas caps off this way I only lose the fuel and not have to replace the filler hose.

Scoutcub.
I'll keep it short..if they should catch the knothead/knotheads all they get slap on wrist, but if there was still some fronter justice we wouldn't have half this going on...we got those knotheads around here also,if they can't steal it they bust it up.

Amen. I pray to God that I never catch anyone in the act of stealing my stuff. (for their sake)

Another idea...I stencil all my stuff with my name. I have a couple of the metal reusable interlocking stencil kits that last forever. The kits come in different sizes. I know it's not much, but have had things returned because they are identifiable. It's also handy if you loan your stuff out, (to moochers), and want to get it back.

Here's one such kit...You may have to buy a couple if your name has a more than one of the same letters in it.
C.H. Hanson® Brass Stencil Letter Kit (10325) - Marking Tools & Stud Sensors - Ace Hardware

Other than that...it's locks, chains, dogs, and you need to keep your stuff put up and away from the road and out of sight. Plus occasional gun fire to let the neighborhood know you are out there...since a reputation gets out that you mean business.
