I guess you're set for firewood for a while with the tops and branches of all those trees!

I do not burn firewood, but, my next door neighbor does.
Yesterday we converted a boat trailer so that it looks like a truck log trailer,,

As built, he says he can cut the pieces 5 wood lengths long, and load them on the trailer.
He will pull it with a big ATV. He is SUPER happy,,
The problem is the wood will rot before he can burn more than ten cords,,,

Can you sell any of the tops? For firewood? You may have to do as the neighbor, cut some to lengths and advertise them. Maybe your forester can help out. Jon

Access would be so difficult, I doubt, even for free,, that I could get any takers,,, :confused2:

The cutting is not complete,, yet,, but, it is getting close,,
We kept the data, and have records of EVERY truckload;
Date
Arrival time
Departure time
Pulp or saw logs

My wife is crazy about data,, she could not resist.

The job should wrap up within a week, assuming there is not another weather delay.

I really wish I could find a website or other source of info on the wholesale price of hardwood rough sawn boards.
Right now, the best data we can find is that oak sells for about $1,000 per thousand board feet,, poplar is less.

The logging crew says this is the worst weather conditions they have EVER experienced in 50 years of doing this type work,,,:
