My wife claims she\'s a TractorByNet widow

Actually, she jokingly has a term for all the time I spend on this board.

"Tractor ****" All I ever hear is "Are you still looking at all that tractor **** ???"

As I wipe the drool off my chin and keyboard, I meekly say "yeah".

Am I addicted? Probably so.

Does anyone else have to deal with spousal abuse for this addictive habit? Probably so. What do your better halves have to say about your habits???
Just interested...grateful for any advice....Kyle

Yea I get the same but I think she is just acting put out. She gets to control the remote and watch her reality shows. Let's see Tractor **** or Survivor. No contest. Now if they were to show Survivor, World Tractor Expo, I might just have to watch.

My wife accusses me of being addicted to TBN and that it is more important to me that her. I also spend more time with TBN that I do her. But I had lunch with a TBN'er (Spencer) and my wife just couldn't believe I would do that. Have lunch with a guy I have never seen before in my life when I could have had lunch with her. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: My wife claims she\'s a TractorByNet widow

If your wife calls the time you spend on TBN "tractor ****" she has a worse problem than you do. I didn't discover this site until after I bought my JD and never used our PC that much, when I became addicted she kept coming in to see why I was on the computer for so long. She was actually PLEASED that I was looking at G-rated (Good) material and doesn't mind at all, unless she has the urge to play her silly, childish Solitaire game.....she is ADDICTED to it, and I nag her about that. Life is great !!

Yeah, my wife sitting at the computer playing spider solitaire is cutting into my TBN time! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I wish there was a "tractor" show on TV. I'd watch.

Gosh, the wife does not know how lucky she is.

This is just an investigative pelude stage to going to the dealer, laying down the cash and oblige the wifes latest landscape desire.

Re: My wife claims she\'s a TractorByNet widow

The only thing that bugs me is knowing that just checking/reading posts an hour a day adds up to 365 hours a year, which is 2 full weeks a year of 24/7 TBN contact. Gosh - that's more than what I get for vacation each year.

A couple years ago my wife never knew how to turn on a computer so I used to hear a lot about her being a "computer widow."

Then I was going to be away from home on my own for a couple months and got her a computer of her own, about a week before I left, and set up a wireless network so we could both be on line if we wanted to be at the same time. We have broadband so that was possible and we don't notice an real difference in speed for what we do.

The reason for getting her the computer and putting it in the livingroom was that it would be convenient for her to stay in touch with me via email, as I was going to be in another country, and day there was night here, etc.

Well she got hooked. Email, web browsing, info gathering, news reading in her native language...etc...etc...can you say "computer widower?" /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Now I never hear a complaint, period! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

AND if she ever gets interested in using my tractor, and trying to take away some of my seat time...well I have the smaller BX in my back pocket just in case... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

She sure won't be sitting in my tractor seat cutting into my seat time... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
